A catalogue of (almost) every creative endeavor I took on in 2023, deep dives into two hyper-fixations of the year, and a small list of recommended media. A print endeavor made for digital browsing.
I mainly drew inspiration from Chinese tear-away calendars for the cover and Japanese editorial layouts.
A few pages below have been removed for privacy. If you would like the full catalogue, please email me.
The symbols on the cover represent the main categories of crafts I learned over the year: a shuttle for weaving, a series of loops for knitting, a needle and thread for sewing, a wheel for spinning, and a series of natural symbols for music. The Chinese characters represent the lunar new year of the water rabbit.
The flowers, star, and three ovals are elements from my childhood: my family’s love of flowers, my own love of space, and three grains of rice stuck together.
Most of these Chinese tear-away calendars are bilingual, so I included Thai in my version. The Thai calendar year is 543 years ahead of the US year.
